DIRECTOR
Simone Marino was born in Rome in 1996. After graduating in Philosophy at the University of Rome, La Sapienza, he worked as a directing intern for the TV series The New Pope by Paolo Sorrentino and as a casting assistant for the feature film The Immensity by Emanuele Crialese. He was admitted to the directing course of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia for the three-years period 2020-2022. In 2021 he shot Il dilemma del porcospino with which he participated the following year in the Roma Creative Contest International Short Film Festival. In 2022, as part of the Sugar Project between the Sugar Music label and the Centro Sperimentale, he was chosen to direct a short police film, then entitled The Case Is Closed, Go in Peace. This short was selected at the Turin Film Festival. His final diploma short film, The Oddity in the Blue Crayfish, is currently being distributed. He is also currently preparing a mini-series produced by the Centro Sperimentale together with Campari, entitled The Red Rail.
