EXCLUSIVE: Italy’s Open Reel has agreed key sales for dramas on its slate, including North America and UK deals for Daniel Nolasco’s Only Good Things and Sergio De León’s Keep Coming Back.

Brazilian LGBTQIA+ feature Only Good Things, which recently premiered at Guadalajara and Frameline has sold to TLA Releasing for North America and the UK, and to Optimale for France and GM Films for Germany and Austria.

Set in 1984, Only Good Things centres on Antonio who takes care of his small, isolated farm and who takes care and falls in love with Marcelo, a lonely motorcycler who suffers an accident crossing the region.

Uruguay-Argentina co-production Keep Coming Back, which also premiered at Guadalajara and Frameline, sold to TLA Releasing for North America and the UK and to Optimale for France. The LGBTQIA+ drama centres on a young man trying to manage cursed inheritance, his desires and the discovery of a love.

Meanwhile, Open Reel has also sold US director Alan Brown’s Other People’s Bodies to Dark Star Pictures for North America. The film is a queer reimagining of the French classic La Piscine, in which four former friends and lovers reunite on a hot summer weekend.

Čejen Černik Canak’s Sandbag Dam, which premiered in Berlinale Generation, has sold to Optimale for France and to Matchbox Films for the UK-Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. It had previously sold to Dark Star for North America and Tongairo for Poland.

Italian director Mariano Lamberti’s gay drama A True Story has sold to Here TV for North America and Croatian director Zvonimir Munivrana’s romantic thriller Hallway To Nowhere has sold to Doki Entertainment for South Korea.
