SYNOPSIS
Eva, a trans woman, takes on the care of her granddaughter after the sudden death of her daughter-in-law. While processing the grief, she tries to help her son connect emotionally with the baby. Amid tensions, reproaches, and silence, mother and son embark on a path toward mutual understanding and the reconstruction of their family bond.
DIRECTOR
William Reyes is a Honduran film director and screenwriter. He studied Audiovisual Production in Honduras and completed a Master’s in Latin American and Caribbean Cinema in Cuba. He is the founder of OPIDA, a production company focused on auteur cinema and film training programs for Indigenous and Afro-descendant communities. His short films Victoria (2019) and El Pescador (2023) have screened at festivals such as Guadalajara and Havana, winning Best Fiction and Best Documentary at the Ícaro Central American Film Festival. His debut feature film Eva (2025), a Honduras–Colombia co-production, recently completed post-production after touring several industry platforms across the Americas. He also leads Cine desde Nuestros Pueblos, an initiative dedicated to the creation and exhibition of Indigenous and Afro-Honduran cinema.
