The Open Reel deals with Greek production company Artcut (Konstantinos Baliotis) on the acquisition of the short film Avanos, directed by Panagiotis Charamis.
Presented as a work in progress at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, Avanos was also presented at the last Torino Short Film Market and received, among others, awards for the Best Short Film, Best Photography and Best Male Actor, at the last Drama International Short Film Festival.
Avanos, now available for festivals and sales, tells the story of Tasos, an ex-convict, feeling guilty of a workplace accident his friend had at the slaughterhouse where he works, and Kiki, a waitress at the local tavern, who is a victim of sexual harassment. When they both find themselves under extreme pressure, the explosion and its consequences are at hand.
